Opening in 2025

Citybox has recently signed a long-term lease agreement with property developer Aton for 123 rooms in the center of Stavanger. This new hotel will be our first establishment in Stavanger. It is planned to open in 2025 at Klubbgata 3.

“We are very grateful to Kjell and Tommy Madland at Aton for giving us this opportunity, and we look forward to a good long-term collaboration,” says Chairman of Citybox, Martin Smith-Sivertsen.

“Klubbgata is the ideal location for a Citybox-hotel in Stavanger. It is located in the city center, right by the charming wooden house area, and only 100 meters from Norway’s finest cathedral. The location is perfect for transportation, whether guests arrive by train, bus, boat, or car. Stavanger is an incredibly dynamic and charming city, and we have wanted to establish ourselves here for a long time. If everything goes according to plan, we will open in time to participate in the magnificent 900th anniversary of the city and the cathedral,” continues Martin.

The 11th signing

This signing in Stavanger marks Citybox’s eleventh signing, and the hotel chain will more than double the number of rooms. Citybox has several other hotels in the pipeline, including Citybox Helsinki, Citybox Stockholm, and Citybox Brussels, which will open in 2024. Furthermore, Citybox Kristiansand and Citybox Tromsø are also in the pipeline.

The hotel chain had an impressive year in 2022. The hotels generated an “all-time high” revenue of 269 million, almost 50 million above budget. Citybox Oslo and Citybox Bergen also had the highest occupancy rates in their respective cities, with 88.8% and 77.6%, 28% and 20% higher than city averages.

Tommy Madland, project manager at Aton, expressed his satisfaction with the collaboration agreement. He praised Citybox’s impressive growth and steady results. Aton is now in the process of converting the interior of the hotel mass, and the building is expected to be ready in 2025. Madland is confident that the excellent location of the property will make this a successful collaboration for both parties.
