There’s something truly special about opening the doors to a brand-new hotel. Especially Northern Norway’s largest hotel.
Follow my train of thought here.
Imagine a large, beautiful building. Brand-new. Completely empty. Completely silent. Then the building starts to fill up. First with furniture. Then with staff.
And finally, with guests.
But before the doors open, the work begins somewhere else entirely.
An entire team must be hired. Hosts to welcome our guests. Housekeeping to make the building shine. Together, a hotel must be prepared for opening.
And then it happens.
Beds are made. Hair dryers are set up. Light bulbs are screwed in. Signs are hung. Systems are tested. Bookings start ticking in.
Everyone is working. A little chaos. A lot of energy.
And suddenly, everything is ready.
An excited group.
The sound of a rolling suitcase on the street.
The first guests walk through the door.
We’re up and running.
In the summer of 2027, it’s happening. Citybox is coming to Tromsø. And we’re now looking for the hotel director who will bring our hotel to life.
We are Citybox. Since 2006, we’ve been challenging the traditional hotel model. We like to call ourselves the punks of the hotel industry.
We develop and operate hotels in central city areas and key hubs across Europe. What our hotels have in common is Scandinavian design, smart self-service solutions, and prices that offer great value for money. Our concept is simple: We focus on what actually matters to guests and have eliminated what doesn’t.
It works. Our hotels deliver strong results and consistently high guest satisfaction, with scores ranging from 8.1 to 9.1.
Watch the video in the ad where William Fosser shares a bit about being the Hotel Manager at Citybox Oslo.
With its 351 rooms, Citybox Tromsø will be Northern Norway’s largest hotel by room count and one of our most exciting projects to date. We’ll be part of the new Mack Øst district, an area that will bring together restaurants, shops, and a vibrant urban life.
But enough about us. Let’s talk about you.
We believe you thrive best when things are happening around you.
You’re a leader people trust. Someone who’s present in the day-to-day, takes the lead when needed, and can get a team to pull in the same direction.
You have a background in hospitality, service, or other industries where people and experiences are at the heart of what you do. You’ve led people before, and you know that great teams and great results don’t just happen on their own.
You also understand that a hotel needs to turn a profit. You keep costs under control, monitor the numbers, and know where to make adjustments when things aren’t quite adding up.
The hotel is under construction. The team is being assembled. Guests are on their way.
We’re just missing the director.
You’ll start in the role in fall/winter 2026, giving you time to get to know us and our hotels, hire your team, and prepare the hotel for its opening in summer 2027.
If this sounds like something you’d like to be a part of, or if you know the perfect candidate, we’d love to hear from you.
Tell us a little about who you are and why you’d like to lead our new hotel in Tromsø
