Kalura&#8217;s delicious Italian pizzas are baked in a stone oven, which gives a unique smoky flavor. One bite of their wonderful pizzas and you would think that you&#8217;ve gone to Italy instead of Antwerp.

The perfect place to start your day! At Grand Mangeur you&#8217;ll get a delicious breakfast/lunch/brunch every day. Of course they also have the best pastries, so you can be sure to get your daily Belgium waffle. 



All though everything on the menu is delicious, we recommend the classic Eggs &amp; Bacon with a coffee on the side! The entrance to the café is right by the lobby. Opening hours are from 07:00-15:00.

Grand Mangeur

If the weather is nice and you fancy a beer outside, we highly recommend visiting Kassa 4. Just a few minutes walk from the hotel, you can sit and enjoy a drink and the sun. Belgium is known for their beer, so we recommend asking the staff for their recommendations. You won&#8217;t be disappointed! 



They also serve food, so here you can get the full experience.

Meatballs and croquettes are an essential part of the Belgian cuisine, and Balls &amp; Glory make the best dishes based on this tradition. It is the perfect place to enjoy lunch or an aperitif with friends and family, with many options. It is located in the Theaterplein, where you can enjoy a lovely local market every Saturday and Sunday .

Balls & Glory

Ramen is always a good idea! Takumi is a chain that you can find in several places in Antwerp and Brussels. They serve traditional dishes that are freshly prepared by the kitchen. Their noodles are actually imported from Japan in order to maintain an authentic taste experience. We recommend the Chicken Shio Ramen, with dumplings and edamame beans on the side! Also, when in Belgium, add a beer to your order as well.

Takumi, Antwerp

If you are looking for a place to try local beers and have delicious hot dogs, chicken wings, and nachos in a very cool place with good music, Billie&#8217;s is your place. It is very close to the Groenplaats, in the city center, and is pet-friendly, as its name and decoration come from its owners&#8217; bulldog.

At the traditional De Koninck Brewery, you can try the most popular local beers and have a nice dinner in one of their various restaurants: Black Smoke Barbeque, The Butcher&#8217;s Son culinary restaurant, De Pelgrim Pub, and Repasse restaurant. You can also book a brewery tour, tastings, and more experiences. Our favorite beer? Definetely the Bolleke!

Fries are a Belgian classic, but at Frites Atelier, you can try a unique combination with a gourmet twist by the former 2-Michelin star chef Sergio Herman, as well as croquettes and burgers in a cozy pub-like environment. Do you really need further convincing? This should be one of your first stops while you&#8217;re in Antwerp.

This Moroccan restaurant specializes in pancake wraps with different delicious fillings. They also serve delicious soups, salads, mocktail mojitos, and smoothies. It has a beautiful terrace and is within walking distance of the Grote Markt.

Msemen

With a unique Indonesian-inspired cuisine, Murni offers fresh, healthy, vegetarian, and vegan plates. It is located in the chic zone of Zuid, in front of the recently renovated Royal Arts Museum.

Murni

Did you know that an average Belgian eats 75kg of fried potatoes every year? Try the traditional Belgian fries, snacks, and sauces in the newly renovated, Frituur&#8217; t Stad. You&#8217;ll find it right in the City Center, and they have very affordable prices. To complement your fries, we recommend trying snacks such as currywurst, bicky burger, stoveless, or cervela.

Located only 2 minutes away from Citybox, this small sandwich place is very popular among students in the area. It is the perfect place to start your day and we recommend having your breakfast here. 



The sandwich shop offers soups, salads, and baked goods at very affordable prices. It&#8217;s perfect to if you want to have a delicious bite on the go.

Oliver’s Sandwich & Salad Bar

I mean, there is always room for dessert, right? If you are in Antwerp, Quetzal is definitely the best option. They offer a wide variety of chocolate-based ice cream, fondue, brownies, hot beverages, and more. Its hard to recommend just one thing, but if you&#8217;re a sucker for hot chocolate cakes, this is one of the best. Go for the &#8220;intense&#8221; choice. You will not be disappointed!

Quetzal

If you went to Antwerp and did not pass by the Cathedral of Our Lady, you are missing out! Its gothic style is a milestone in the history of architecture. 



To add to the cathedral&#8217;s beauty, there are unique stained-glass windows, as well as works of Peter Paul Rubens. They were taken by Napoleon and returned in 1918. In the back of the cathedral you will find the statue of orphan Nello and his dog Patrache. It is based on the novel A Dog in Flanders, a touching story about friendship and loyalty (which we also recommend you read).

Right by the central station you will find the Antwerp Zoo. Established in 1843, it is the oldest zoo in Belgium and is home to 8 000 exotic animals from all over the world. 



Inside the zoo, it is so peaceful you&#8217;ll forget you&#8217;re in the center of the city. Our favorite area has to be the Butterfly Garden, an immersive area with more than 600 flying beauties. You can take a stroll in the zoo but also engage in different activities, such as talks by keepers, or watch scuba divers in the reef aquarium.



Antwerp Zoo is open all days of the year, from 10:00-18:00. The zoo is only a 9-minute walk away from the Central Station and Chocolate Nation.

This is not only the heart of the old town of Antwerp. De Grote Markt is also the perfect place to kickstart your walking tour through the historical quarter. 



The &#8220;Big Market&#8221; is home to the city hall of Antwerp, built in the 16th century in the Renaissance style; to the Brabo Fountain, which represents the tale that gives the name to the city, as well to several bars and their &#8220;terraces.&#8221; On sunny days, nothing is better than a Belgian beer and snacks at one of the terraces!

What used to be the fortification&#8217;s entrance in Antwerp nowadays works as a visitor center and cruise terminal. It has some attractions such as &#8220;The Antwerp Story,&#8221; where you will get introduced to the city. It is a perfect place to get more information about the city and buy presents at the official store!

Het Steen

The Meir street, which once used to be an avenue with a canal, connects Citybox to the heart of town. It is also one of the most important shopping streets in all of Belgium. Besides several international brands, you also have historical Rococo buildings such as Stadsfeeszaal, Galeria Inno, and Palace in Meir. 



Shops are usually open from 10:00 until 18:00, from Monday-Saturday, and every first Sunday of the month.

Located by the river Schelde, the Museum aan de Stroom exhibits on each floor a different view of the history of Antwerp and the harbor. It is an important piece economically and historically to the city. On the top floor, you have a 360-degree panorama view of the city and a restaurant. 



Our suggestion: bring some snacks and have a picnic at the promenade area by the MAS and see the sunset! If you need a picnic towel, you can request it at the museum entrance. MAS is 17 minutes away by foot, or you can take the bus number 17.

The river Schelde divides the city into two regions: the center and the Linkerover, where you have a privileged view of the city&#8217;s skyline. Back in 1931, the city decided to, instead of a bridge, build a tunnel only for pedestrians &#8211; and eventually, as of today, bikes. The Sint-Annatunnel keeps our traditional wooden escalators and is a very Instagrammable place! Worth the visit!

After 11 years of renovations, the Royal Museum of Fine Arts Antwerp &#8211; known as KMSKA &#8211; is finally open! Besides its impressive architecture, the museum is home to 8,400 objects from the 14th to the 20th century, in special works of the master of the Flemish Baroque, Peter Paul Rubens! 



Located in the Zuid region of Antwerp, take the opportunity to visit the neighborhood and its trendy cafés and restaurants. To get there, take the tram in one direction, Zuid, and get out at station Antwerpen Montigny. From there, it is only a small 10-minute walk.

Check-in time is from 15:00, and check-out time is 12:00. 



If you want to stay a little longer, let us know. You can stay until 13:00 for free. It’s an extra €12 per hour if you want to stay longer (until 15:00). If you want to stay even longer, you must pay for another night as we need time to clean the room before the next guest. You can store luggage with us outside of these hours in our luggage room.

What is the check-in and check-out time?

Citybox is within walking distance from Antwerp Central Station. Take the train from whichever airport you land in, and you can walk to the hotel in 5 minutes. The prices will vary depending on the season and availability. You can also travel by taxi, but the train is both faster, cheaper and better for the environment!

How do I get to the hotel from the airport?

Yes! Our luggage storage is open for all guests before check-in and after check-out. Simply use the terminals to get a keycard for the luggage room. Please note that luggage is stored at the guest&#8217;s own risk. And as always, if you need help ask our hosts at the hotel!

Can I store my luggage at the hotel?

Breakfast is not included, but you have several options. You can prepare your own breakfast in our guest kitchen, which has a microwave, toasters, and kettles. Coffee and snacks are also available from the vending machines in the lobby.



For a quick and tasty start to your day, visit Grand Mangeur—our partner café right by the lobby—open daily from 07:00–15:00.

Is breakfast included?

If you need to wash your clothes, there is a self-service laundromat located on the same level as the lobby, next to the guest kitchen. Washing detergent is included in the price, card payments only. Open from 07:00 to 21:00.

Do you have a laundry room?

Unfortunately, we don’t have our own parking facilities, but you can park in &#8220;Parking Antwerp Shopping&#8221; which is on the same street as the hotel. Happy parking!

Where can I park my car?

Yes, all our rooms have TVs, set up for streaming only (no channels). You’ll also find a larger TV in the cozy common room on the ground floor. Our fast and free Wi-Fi makes it easy to stream on your own devices too.

Can I book a meeting room?

We have free Wi-Fi for all our guests; no secret codes or passwords are required! Just connect and surf away.

Does your hotel have Wi-Fi?

After you book your stay, you will receive a booking confirmation, including a booking number. When you check in, type in your booking number on our check-in terminal, make your payment, and you will receive your key card and room number.



When checking out, type in your booking reference, and leave your key card in the box next to the terminal.

How do I check in and out?

You can bring your furry family member for an extra 15€/200NOK/200SEK per stay; just let us know in advance. We can’t wait to have them stay with us! We do love all animals, but we must put a leash on it and stick to only one dog or cat per room.

Can I bring my dog?

No need to worry about locking up when you head out; our doors automatically lock when you leave. To play it extra safe, you can also lock your door from the inside.

How do I lock my door?

First off, we are super happy that you’d like to book a stay with us! Unfortunately, you must be over 18 years old to check into Citybox without adult supervision. But don’t worry; we’ll be here waiting for you!
