We are always in the mood for some Ramen. At Umamido you get a homecooked meal with maximum flavor, no matter what you order. This Japanese cuisine is located just a ten minutes walk from the hotel, with a cozy, rustic interior. On sunny days you get even enjoy your meal outside!

Umamido

Paul is a cozy little French cafe located right next to the hotel. Here you can enjoy fresh pastries and delicious high quality coffee. Their history goes back all the way to 1889, so you know that they know their bread. 



Go there for breakfast or brunch. In the summer they are summer salads and the most delicious Frappé. Needless to say &#8211; we recommend you order it when you go there.

If you&#8217;re looking for a place to eat, but not to far a walk from the hotel, Le Rendez-Vous Brasserie Restaurant is the perfect choice. It has a cozy atmosphere (with the possibility to sit outside), friendly staff and delicious food. 



The menu is big, and you have a lot of meals to choose from. We recommend the linguine with lobster or the mussels with garlic cream. You won&#8217;t be disappointed. And if you&#8217;re really hungry &#8211; go for the Tomahawk steak. Delicious!

Gusti Pizzeria is only a 4 minute walk from the hotel. That means that you are never far away from a fresh pizza. Whether you are in the mood for a classic Margherita or want to try something a little more exciting like their Honey Goat Cheese, you are guaranteed to leave the restaurant happy and full! 



PS: They even have take-away if you would rather enjoy the meal in your Citybox bed.

Make it a night to remember! Arion is a real Brasserie that combines the arts of brewer and true gourmet. Here you can savor the classics of Belgian cuisine that everyone loves, but also taste creative dishes from their amazing chef. 



Arion serves lunch and dinner, and they have a wide menu where we can almost guarantee that you will find something you love. It&#8217;s hard to pick a favorite to recommend here, so go with your gut! 



The best part? The restaurant is only a 1-minute walk from the hotel.

From art on the walls to delicious pasta on your plate, Bavet is a must to visit if you are craving some pasta! All their dishes are hilariously named, so if you have our kind of humor you&#8217;ll have a difficult time in choosing one. In the end it doesn&#8217;t matter &#8211; they are all delicious!

Just a few minutes walk from the hotel you will find Lloyd Coffee Eatery. A cozy café that serves a large range of coffee, lunch/brunch, buns, pancakes &#8211; you name it! They have it all. 



If you are aiming for a big breakfast we recommend the Salmon gravlax (we are Norwegians after all). They also have some delicious salad bowls if you are trying to stay healthy! 



If you are travelling with your family, Lloyd has a kids corner where they can play while you relax. 



PS: There are a few tables outside, so enjoy your coffee and meal outside on sunny days!

Ramen is always a good idea! Takumi is a chain that you can find in several places in Antwerp and Brussels. They serve traditional dishes that are freshly prepared by the kitchen. Their noodles are actually imported from Japan in order to maintain an authentic taste experience. We recommend the Chicken Shio Ramen, with dumplings and edamame beans on the side! Also, when in Belgium, add a beer to your order as well.

Takumi, Brussels

This one is for the meat-lovers. Colonel is located in the heart of Brussels and offers warmth and authenticity in a setting that is both modern and classy. From the butcher counter you can choose exceptional meat dishes, and of course the side dishes are just as good. 



We recommend asking the very helpful staff for help when ordering, they really know their menu! And when in doubt, try the Wagyu Blackmore. It&#8217;s really, really good.

Colonel

You simply can&#8217;t visit Brussels without having some fries. Although you can pretty much get them everywhere, we really recommend Frites Atelier in Brussels! The fries are soft, creamy and beautifully crispy &#8211; all the same time. We already have water in our mouths writing this. Just go there!

The best cocktails in Brussels! At least in our opinion. Just stone&#8217;s throw from the Grand-Place, you will find this vibrant bar. They specialize in cocktails and have over 40 different types. If you&#8217;re lucky you&#8217;ll get it in a one-of-a-kind glass or cup!



This is the perfect place to go with your friends or a loved one. Whether you like them sour, sweet or bitter &#8211; The Green Man Bar has got you covered.

Do you like beer? Cause Delirium has like 2.000 of them. Definitely a place to visit to enjoy a beer (or ten) with friends. They actually hold the Guinness World Record for the number of beers available for tasting! It&#8217;s difficult to make a recommendation, since the selection is so wide. But don&#8217;t worry! Ask the very dedicated staff for advice and they will not disappoint you.



PS: Don&#8217;t ask them for wine. They don&#8217;t like that.

Delirium Café 

Sometimes you just want to find a green spot in the city, and at Parc de Bruxelles you can do just that. The opportunities are (almost) endless. You can enjoy a slow walk and a coffee, take a jog (good for you!) or even rent a bike to explore the peacefull scenery. The park is filled with classical statues, trees and fountains. As its on the edge of Brussels city center, you can easily get there by public transport as well.

Parc de Bruxelles

If there’s one place you have to check out while you’re in Brussels, it’s the Grand Place. Sure, it’s about 30 minutes on foot from the hotel (or 24 minutes by public transport), but trust us—it’s worth it. You really can’t say you’ve been to Brussels without seeing it.



This iconic square is the heart of the city, surrounded by grand guildhalls and the stunning Town Hall. It’s one of those places that actually looks better in real life than in the pictures—especially when it lights up in the evening.



Whether you go for a quick visit, a slow wander, or just to sit and take it all in over a cup of coffee, the Grand Place delivers. So carve out some time, bring your camera (or don’t—it’s unforgettable either way), and let this Brussels classic win you over.

Brussels might be known for chocolate and waffles, but did you know it&#8217;s also the comic book capital of Europe? The Comic Strip Trail is a fun and colorful way to explore the city- featuring over 60 murals of famous characters like Tintin, Lucky Luke, and the Smurfs painted on buildings throughout town. 



It’s part sightseeing, part treasure hunt, and a great excuse to wander through different neighborhoods. Whether you’re a comic book fan or just into street art and city strolls, this trail adds a playful twist to your visit.



You’ll find some murals close by, while others might take you a bit off the usual path. But that’s part of the fun! Just keep your eyes up and your camera ready.

The Comic Strip Trail

You really can’t miss the Atomium. Literally. This giant, futuristic structure is one of Brussels’ most iconic sights, and it’s just 30–35 minutes from the hotel by public transport. Originally built for the 1958 World’s Fair, it’s now a must-see for first-time visitors (and yes, it’s as cool in person as it looks in the photos).



A ticket gets you access inside the Atomium, where you can explore several of the giant spheres. There are exhibitions on design, science, and the history of the building itself, plus a panorama deck at the top with sweeping views of Brussels. There’s even a light installation in the escalators that makes the journey between spheres part of the experience.



Tickets are €16 for adults and €8.50 for children. Bonus: your ticket also includes entry to Design Museum Brussels, located just next door.



If you&#8217;re up for a little adventure, you can also pair your visit with Mini-Europe, which is right around the corner. Easy, fun, and very Brussels.

The Atomium

If you’re into creativity, design, or just want to see something a bit different, the Design Museum Brussels is a great stop. Located in the Heysel district, it’s about 30–35 minutes from the hotel by public transport &#8211; but well worth the trip if you’ve got a few hours to spare.



The museum is best known for its Plastic Design Collection, a colorful and surprisingly fun celebration of plastic furniture and objects from the mid-20th century to today. There are also changing exhibitions that cover everything from graphic design and architecture to everyday objects that make you look twice.



It’s modern, thoughtful, and just the right size &#8211; not too big, not too small. Perfect for an easy-going afternoon with a creative twist.

The Design Museum in Brussels

Looking for one of the best views in Brussels? Head to Mount of the Arts. Just a 20-minute walk from the hotel, this elegant urban terrace sits between the upper and lower parts of the city. And trust us, it’s as photogenic as it gets.



From the top, you get a picture-perfect view over the formal gardens, rooftops, and church spires, with the tower of the Town Hall rising in the distance. It’s a favorite for sunset (and Instagram), but beautiful any time of day.



The area is also packed with culture. Some of the city’s top museums are right here. That includes the Magritte Museum, the Royal Museums of Fine Arts, and Bozar. So whether you&#8217;re into art or just want a scenic break, Mount of the Arts is an easy and rewarding stop.

Tucked just beside Mont des Arts, the Royal Library of Belgium (also known as KBR) is a great place to slow down and discover something unexpected. It might not be the most famous stop in Brussels, but it&#8217;s definitely one of the most peaceful and interesting.



Inside, you’ll find exhibitions that explore everything from medieval manuscripts to modern Belgian culture. The real highlight? The KBR Museum, which showcases the stunning illuminated manuscripts from the Library of the Dukes of Burgundy—true treasures of European history.



The building itself is worth a visit too, with quiet reading rooms, creative exhibits, and even a rooftop café with a view over the city. It’s perfect if you want a dose of culture without the crowds.

The Royal Library of Belgium

Brussels isn’t just Belgium’s capital. It’s kind of the capital of Europe too. The European Quarter is where it all happens, home to major institutions like the European Parliament, the European Commission, and other EU buildings. It’s a different vibe from the historic city center, but just as interesting in its own way.



The area is about 25 minutes by public transport from the hotel. It&#8217;s a great pick if you&#8217;re curious about modern Brussels, politics, or just want to see something different. The architecture is sleek and impressive, and there’s plenty of green space too. You could for example take a look at the lovely Parc Leopold and the bigger Parc du Cinquantenaire nearby.



Our best tip is to explore at the European Parliament hemicycle (yes, that round room you see on the news). You can visit for free with an audio guide and get a behind-the-scenes look at where some of Europe’s biggest decisions are made. It’s surprisingly engaging &#8211; even if politics isn’t usually your thing.

Check-in is from 15:00, and check-out time is 12:00. If you want to stay a little longer, let us know. You can stay (by request) until 14:00 for free in a double room if you are a Citybox Friend. If you want to stay even longer, you’ll, unfortunately, need to pay for another night as we need time to clean the room before the next guest. You can store luggage with us outside of these hours in our luggage room in the lobby.

What is the check-in & check-out time?

From Brussels Airport Zaventem, you can hop on the train headed to Brussels Midi/Zuid Station. Upon arrival, take metro line 2 or 6 towards Elisabeth and get off at Louise Station. From there, Citybox is just a 5-minute walk away. The journey is to take about 45-50 minutes.



For those arriving at Brussels South Charleroi Airport, a direct shuttle bus service by Flibco connects you to Brussels Midi/Zuid Station. Once at the station, take metro line 2 or 6 towards Elisabeth and get off at Louise Station. Citybox is then a 5-minute walk away. This journey takes around 1 hour and a half.



These are both the easiest and the most sustainable choices when traveling from the airport to our hotel.

How do I get to the hotel from the airport?

Yes! Our luggage storage is open for all guests before check-in and after check-out. Simply use the terminals to get a keycard for the luggage room. Please note that luggage is stored at the guest&#8217;s own risk. And as always, if you need help ask our hosts at the hotel!

Enjoy their delicious sandwiches, reputed to be the best in Brussels, and their exceptional coffee in a warm and modern setting. With 35 seats inside and even more outside, Brød Louise promises a friendly and gourmet experience.&nbsp;



Brod Café is located on the ground floor next to the hotel entrance. It is open seven days a week, from 7 AM to 3 PM.&nbsp;

Frank blends the best of a café and a restaurant. With a focus on sustainability and vegetable-forward dishes, everything on the menu is made from scratch. It offers a sophisticated take on breakfast and specialty coffee.&nbsp;



Frank Café, located at Chaussée de Charleroi 17 and accessible through the hotel, is open from 8 AM to 4 PM on weekdays and 10 AM to 5 PM on weekends.

Which breakfast options are available?

On-site parking is available for just €20 per 24 hours (subject to availability). Please ring the bell upon arrival. Payment is made at check-in.

Where can I park my car?

There is a self-service laundromat located on the floor -1. Laundry detergent is included in the price and goes into the machine automatically. The price for one wash is 7€, and a cycle in the dryer is 7€. We accept card payments only.  Feel free to request an iron at the host office. In exchange, we kindly ask for an ID card, which will be returned once you’re done using the iron. Open 24/7.

Do you have a laundry room?

We don&#8217;t clean your room every day. Housekeeping is done after check-out and once a week during longer stays. This helps us keep our prices low and is also a big plus for the environment! Extra cleaning can be ordered for a small fee, just stop by the Host Office.

Does my room get cleaned every day?

We have free Wi-Fi for all our guests; no secret codes or passwords are required! Just connect and surf away.

Does your hotel have Wi-Fi?

First off, we are super happy that you’d like to book a stay with us! Unfortunately, you must be over 18 years old to check into Citybox without adult supervision. But don’t worry; we’ll be here waiting for you!

How old do I have to be to stay with you?

We gladly accept Visa and Mastercard as payment options both on our website and in the hotels. For prepaid bookings, we also offer Apple Pay. 



We do not accept American Express as a payment option, but we do accept it as a guarantee on our website. 



Cash payment is accepted across all of our hotels (except for Citybox Helsinki), but you need a valid credit or debit card as a guarantee. This card doesn&#8217;t get charged (unless something unexpected happens); It&#8217;s primarily intended for security reasons.

Which payment options do you accept?

You can bring your furry family member for an extra 15€/200NOK/200SEK per stay; just let us know in advance. We can’t wait to have them stay with us! We do love all animals, but we must put a leash on it and stick to only one dog or cat per room.

Can I bring my dog?

Of course! Extra towels, a water kettle, and extra pillows are available in our Citybox Host Office on the ground floor.

Does my room have a TV?

After you book your stay, you will receive a booking confirmation, including a booking number. When you check in, type in your booking number on our check-in terminal, make your payment, and you will receive your key card and room number.



When checking out, type in your booking reference, and leave your key card in the box next to the terminal.

If you want to add a member to your sleepover, it will cost €15/NOK200 for an extra bed and must be pre-ordered by phone.

At Citybox Hotels, we believe in making sure you have a comfortable and enjoyable stay. That’s why all our rooms are equipped with a comfy bed, a desk and chair, and a modern bathroom with soap, shampoo, and a hairdryer. Some of the rooms also have a small seating area for you to kick back and relax and make yourself at home.

What does my room include?

They are amazing, right? We get our beds from <a href="http://www.hildinganders.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">www.hildinganders.com</a> which usually only delivers to hotels. However, they carry different brands, and the Jensen bed would be equivalent to the beds we have at the hotel.

Yes, Belgian tap water is considered completely safe to drink!

Is the water in Belgium safe to drink?

Brussels is better known for its urban attractions. But there are still some options for outdoor activities. Such as Forêt de Soignes, which is located to the southeast of Brussels and offers various walking and hiking trails. And the Bois de la Cambre, providing opportunities for walks and picnics.

Are there any hiking opportunities nearby?

The closest park is the Parc de Bruxelles (Brussels Park), a beautiful green park with water fountains, a forest side, and historical castles. The park is approximately a 10-minute tram ride or a 20-minute walk from the hotel.
