The restaurant serves American BBQ accompanied by a wide selection of beers that goes hand in hand with the food. While you are enjoying your stay at Citybox you can also enjoy a smoky meal at a 10% discount. All you have to do is show your keycard!



On the second floor you can find the poorly hidden cocktail bar, Kråken. The big selection of drinks guarantees that you never have to drink the same cocktail twice. Unless you want to, of course.

Keen on oysters or pizza? As a guest at Citybox, you can get a 10% discount on food at Hoggorm. The restaurant is located in the same building as the hotel and is open until late. Did we mention that they have the best pizzas in town?



Thin crust pizza with unusual and exciting combos of toppings like chicken and cornflakes, side by side with good old favorites like tomato and cheese or pepperoni. 



In addition to pizza, they also serve oysters and a selection of other small dishes to share. They also have a good selection of natural wine. The atmosphere is relaxed, with good music and a cool vibe. A must-try!

Conveniently located right beneath our hotel, Arti Indisk awaits you in all its spicy glory! Get ready for a taste explosion with home-style Indian cuisine. All of their dishes are prepared authentically, using traditional methods. Their naan bread is worth the trip alone. It is made in a clay oven to give you the true Indian experience.

As the sun sets, the soft glow of lights illuminates a bustling restaurant scene. The rustic wooden tables are adorned with an exquisite array of food and drink, enticing the senses of the patrons. The centerpiece of one table is a delectable feast of Indian cuisine, served on several small bowls. Fragrant aromas waft through the air, as spices mingle harmoniously with the rich flavors. On the table three glasses of red wine glistens in the dim light.

Fancy a burger? We would go so far as to say that Bien Snackbar probably serves the best burgers on Danmarksplass!



In addition to traditional burgers such as cheeseburgers and hamburgers, they have experimented with more original flavors such as BBQ burgers, chili burgers, and (our personal favorite) cheeseburgers with goat cheese. With a large selection of beers on tap and a cozy atmosphere, Bien Snackbar is an absolute must. 



We recommend adding parmesan fries and—if you have a sweet tooth—an “adult milkshake” for dessert.

Bien Pizzabar is a popular pizzeria known for its vibrant atmosphere and delicious pizzas. Their menu features a variety of artisanal pizzas made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The restaurant offers a range of classic and creative toppings. They pride themselves on its casual, welcoming environment, making it a great spot for a relaxed meal with friends or family. 



But Bien Pizzabar is not just about pizza! They also offer a selection of appetizers, salads, and desserts, ensuring there&#8217;s something for everyone. Whether you&#8217;re a local or just passing through, this is a must-visit place for pizza enthusiasts!

Bien Pizzabar

Bergen Brunch is a new and trendy eatery that focuses on brunch, and oh boy, the brunch is good!



The menu consists of various set menus inspired by famous cities, e.g., Brooklyn Brunch or Brisbane Brunch. With the set menus, you get several small dishes named and a small dessert. So good! They also have regular sandwiches and other smaller dishes, but we recommend trying the set menus.



Bergen Brunch is the perfect place for brunch and bubbles. A good tip is to order a table before you get there, as they are often fully booked.

A delectable feast awaits on a wooden table, surrounded by plates filled with a variety of food. The spread includes a succulent bowl of shrimp adorned with dill, a plate of vibrant green salad teeming with fresh tomatoes and lettuce, and a collection of mouth-watering dishes. Close by, a glass of water glistens, reflecting the soft ambient light. A slice of freshly baked white bread completes the scene, adding a touch of simplicity and comfort to the enticing display.

Bergen Brunch

Just a litte light rail ride away (get off at Wergeland) you will find Nawabs, a cozy little Pakistani restaurant with delicious food! They have a wide variety of dishes and you can easily adjust the level of spiciness on your food to your liking. Our favorite is the butter chicken, and of course their homemade Naan bread. But you can&#8217;t go wrong, it&#8217;s all delicious! You can also order take-away if you&#8217;d rather enjoy the food in your hotel room. 



PS: Nawabs is halal, and don&#8217;t serve alcohol. We recommend you try the Mango Lassi instead!

Nawabs

One of our top-pics in Bergen! At this cozy bistro, they change the menu daily but always have a fish dish, a meat dish and good selection of vegetarian dishes. They also have wonderfully good small dishes such as falafel with hummus, grilled vegetables and tomatoes with feta and hazelnuts. It&#8217;s a bit hard to pinpoint the exact cuisine. It just feels like they make whatever they like &#8211; and it works!



If you&#8217;re a group, we recommend you ask the waiter to put together a tasting menu. You won&#8217;t be disappointed.

Allmuen

Here you will find the healthiest and heartiest lunch in town!



They have a selection of excellent soups(meat, vegetarian and vegan), in addition to salads. You can compose the salads yourself, and they make a salad base with fresh spinach, which they mix with a delicious mango dressing.



In addition to delicious soups and salads, they also have coffee, matcha, golden milk, and a selection of raw cakes.

The scene showcases a delectable display of culinary delights, brimming with various vegetables and rice. The focus is on a large bowl overflowing with vibrant vegetables and fluffy grains, serving as the centerpiece of the composition.

Daily Pot

A well-known seafood restaurant located on an island right outside Bergen called Bjorøy. The restaurant serves high-quality seafood from the day&#8217;s catch, and the view from the restaurant tops it off. 



To get there, you can travel by boat if you happen to have one, or get the boat trip from the center of Bergen included when you book. This might sound complicated, but it&#8217;s not &#8211; and the food is worth it! It&#8217;s a 25-minute boat ride from the city center, and you can enjoy a drink to make the time pass.



Cornelius is the place to go to if you want a complete experience. Want to celebrate an anniversary? Cornelius is the place! Want to propose to someone? Cornelius is the place! Just want a delicious meal with a fantastic view? Who would have guessed; Cornelius is also the place!

Cornelius Seafood restaurant

A relatively new and very popular restaurant in Bergen that serves Italian food. From our experience, we haven&#8217;t tried anything we didn&#8217;t like!



It is located in the cozy &#8220;Skostredet&#8221; and has a nice outside terrace in addition to the inside space. This place is golden year-round.



The food is excellent, and the atmosphere is top-notch. We recommend you book well in advance or be prepared to stand in line. They have a few tables for drop-in, but there is usually a queue.

Villani

Hands down the best sushi in Bergen. Nama is known for its excellent service, the good-looking venue, and the quality of the kitchen. The restaurant combines good ingredients and simple preparation into a completely unique taste experience. 



The food is based on sharing, and they have great drinks. They have Japanese robatayaki cuisine, Izakaya, and a sushi bar. Perfect place to bring your date if you want to impress someone.

The scene is set on a table adorned with an assortment of delectable treats. In the center of the table lies a plate of sushi. The sushi roll is garnished with a generous sprinkle of sesame seeds and topped with decadent caviar. To accompany the delectable sushi, a refreshing drink awaits.

Nama

Fløyen is a must-do while in Bergen. Fløibanen, the funicular, brings you up the hillside, from Bergen city center to the top of the mountain in 6 minutes. At Mount Fløyen, you will find beautiful views of Bergen, the nearby islands, fjords, and the mountains surrounding Bergen. Fløyen is a great destination for hiking, mountain biking, and soft adventures. Fløien Folkerestaurant is open daily from May until September. You can also buy snacks and a beer once you reach the top! 



The directions mark the start of the funicular, but you can also hike to the top.

Mount Fløyen and the Funicular

If you&#8217;re in Bergen going to Mount Ulriken is an absolute must! You can hike or take the cable car up the mountainside. From the top, you get the most beautiful view of Bergen.



If you like it, we recommend hiking for the full experience. You can take the Ulriken bus from the city center (it costs about 100kr for a round trip). If you choose public transport, you have several alternatives:

<li>From the city center: Take the Light Rail (line 2) to Haukeland Hospital or bus no. 5 or 6 from Festplassen, 12 from Olav Kyrres gate, or 16E from Xhibition. If you take the bus, get off at Haukelandsbakken.</li>

<li>From Danmarksplass: Take the Light Rail (line 1) to Kronstad and switch to line 2 to Haukeland sykehus. You can also take the bus, no. 27 from Krohnsminde or no. 12 from Strømmen.</li>

Follow the signs from there, approximately 10 minutes. And ready, set, go!

Mount Ulriken

Dinner with a view? Skyskraperen is a restaurant, located on the top of Mount Ulriken in Bergen, is an experience in and of itself. You might guess that the English translation of its name is the Skyscraper, aptly named as you will dine on top of a sea of clouds if the weather is right. 



You can either take a cable car from the mountain&#8217;s base or hike up there if you are feeling sporty. Fine dining at its most spectacular!

Skyskraperen

At the Bergen Aquarium, you can study a colorful and exciting range of fish, watch the otters and other animals get food, and watch 360-degree films in Domen, Storsalen. 



The nice thing about the Aquarium is that you can be both indoors and outdoors. There is also a large playground on the roof. Children and adults alike at Bergen Aquarium can see, read about, and follow the animals and aquarium keepers at close range. You can watch shows and feedings and see how fish and animals act when in their element.

Bergen Aquarium

Looking for a kid-friendly activity near the hotel? Then we recommend you check out Bergen Science Center(Vilvite Senteret)! Explore their extensive science exhibition, play with water canons, explore nature cycles, or learn how the body functions. Taking the kiddos to VilVite is a perfect activity for rainy days.

Up for a hike while you stay in Bergen? This one is just outside our doorstep(literally, the trip starts in our neighborhood)! Løvstakken is part of the 7-mountains surrounding Bergen and will give you a great view of the outer coastline, &#8220;Skjærgård,&#8221; of Bergen, towards the north sea. Psst, the address below is for the top of Mount Løvstakken. 



So if you want some fresh air and to see the nature in Bergen, Løvstakken is a great choice. One extra tip: There are many paths up and down from the mountain. Make sure you choose the right one!

Bergen

Check-in is from 15:00, and check-out time is 12:00. If you want to stay a little longer, let us know. You can stay (by request) until 14:00 for free in a double room if you are a Citybox Friend. If you want to stay even longer, you’ll, unfortunately, need to pay for another night as we need time to clean the room before the next guest. You can store luggage with us outside of these hours in our luggage room in the lobby.

What is the check-in & check-out time?

Light Rail: There&#8217;s an excellent light rail system called &#8220;Bybanen.&#8221; It&#8217;s a train that goes right into the city center. You can find the station inside the airport terminal; follow the well-marked signs.



Get off at “Danmarksplass,” and the hotel is a 5-minute walk away.



You can also travel by taxi, but we recommend the light rail as it is more sustainable and nicer to your wallet!

How do I get to the hotel?

Yes! Our luggage storage is open for all guests before check-in and after check-out. Simply use the terminals to get a keycard for the luggage room. Please note that luggage is stored at the guest&#8217;s own risk. And as always, if you need help ask our hosts at the hotel!

Can I store my luggage at the hotel?

Breakfast is not included. Coffee and snacks can be purchased at the vending machines in the lobby. We also have a guest kitchen equipped with a microwave oven, toasters, and kettles, so you are able to prepare your own breakfast. You are also welcome to buy breakfast at our partner restaurant JAJA, which opens at 7 am on weekdays and 8 am on weekends.

Is breakfast included?

If you need to wash your clothes, there is a self-service laundromat located on the second floor. Laundry detergent is included in the price and goes into the machine automatically. The price for one wash is NOK 50,- and so is one round in the dryer. We accept card payments only. Open from 07:00 to 21:00.

Unfortunately, we don’t have our own parking facilities, but there are plenty of parking options nearby:

Where can I park my car?

Short answer: No. However, TVs can be found in the common room on the ground floor. We have free (and fast) Wi-Fi so that you can stream Netflix in your room on your laptop or iPad!

Do I have a TV in my room?

Of course! Extra towels, a water kettle, and extra pillows are available in our Citybox Host Office on the ground floor.

Can I get extra towels?

You can rent a City bike (Bysykkel) from NOK 49,-. The nearest bike rack is by the grocery store Coop Extra, which is located right by the hotel. You can also find bikes by the light rail station Danmarksplass. More information can be found at bergenbysykkel.no

Can I rent a bike?

We may be budget-friendly, but we don’t skimp on the essentials! Leave your towels and sheets at home; we’ve got you covered.

Should I bring my own sheets? 

At Citybox Hotels, we believe in making sure you have a comfortable and enjoyable stay. That’s why all our rooms are equipped with a comfy bed, a desk and chair, and a modern bathroom with soap, shampoo, and a hairdryer. Some of the rooms also have a small seating area for you to kick back and relax and make yourself at home.

What does my room include?

They are amazing, right? We get our beds from <a href="http://www.hildinganders.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">www.hildinganders.com</a> which usually only delivers to hotels. However, they carry different brands, and the Jensen bed would be equivalent to the beds we have at the hotel.

Where are the beds from?

We have free Wi-Fi for all our guests; no secret codes or passwords are required! Just connect and surf away.

Does your hotel have Wi-Fi?

We don&#8217;t clean your room every day. Housekeeping is done after check-out and once a week during longer stays. This helps us keep our prices low and is also a big plus for the environment! Extra cleaning can be ordered for a small fee, just stop by the Host Office.

Does my room get cleaned every day?

We gladly accept Visa and Mastercard as payment options both on our website and in the hotels. For prepaid bookings, we also offer Apple Pay. 



We do not accept American Express as a payment option, but we do accept it as a guarantee on our website. 



Cash payment is accepted across all of our hotels (except for Citybox Helsinki), but you need a valid credit or debit card as a guarantee. This card doesn&#8217;t get charged (unless something unexpected happens); It&#8217;s primarily intended for security reasons.

Which payment options do you accept?

Our hotel room doors take up to 60 seconds to lock automatically due to safety reasons. All hotels in Norway have a special regulation for this. But don’t worry, if you’re in a hurry, tap your key card on the door, and it will lock right away.

How do I lock my door?

First off, we are super happy that you’d like to book a stay with us! Unfortunately, you must be over 18 years old to check into Citybox without adult supervision. But don’t worry; we’ll be here waiting for you!

How old do I have to be to stay with you?

After you book your stay, you will receive a booking confirmation, including a booking number. When you check in, type in your booking number on our check-in terminal, make your payment, and you will receive your key card and room number.



When checking out, type in your booking reference, and leave your key card in the box next to the terminal.

How do I check in and out?

If you want to add a member to your sleepover, it will cost €15/NOK200 for an extra bed and must be pre-ordered by phone.

What does an extra bed cost?

Our hotel is Green Key-certified. This means that we have made conscious choices to do what we can to make the hotel more sustainable. You can read more <a href="/sustainability">here.</a>

Is the hotel eco-certified?

Tap water in Norway is considered excellent quality and is safe to drink anywhere in the country unless stated otherwise.

Is the water safe to drink?

Nygårdsparken is the closest park to both our hotels in Bergen. It&#8217;s a beautiful park with great opportunities for picnics with friends, to walk your dog or to just get some air in nice surroundings! It&#8217;s super popular in the summertime.

Are there any parks nearby?

7(!) mountains surround Bergen. So, there are plenty of hiking opportunities. The most popular mountain is Mount Fløyen, where you can take the Funicular or hike to the top. You can hike straight to Ulriken, Rundemanen, and Sandviksfjellet from the top of Fløyen. Both the Funicular station and the starting point of the hike are in the city center.

Are there any hiking opportunities nearby?

Bergen is mainly known for its mountains and fjords, but the city also has some beaches. We recommend Marineholmen Beach, Sandviken Sjøbad and Nordnes Sjøbad. 



If you are looking for a blue flag-certified beach, we recommend Helleneset Beach.

Are there any beaches in Bergen?

You can bring your furry family member for an extra 15€ per stay; just let us know in advance. We can’t wait to have them stay with us! We do love all animals, but we must put a leash on it and stick to only one dog or cat per room.

Can I bring my dog?

Although you could always walk, we recommend taking the Bergen Light Rail. The closest stop from the hotel is &#8220;Danmarksplass&#8221;. Take the light rail heading to &#8220;Byparken&#8221; and get off at &#8220;Nonneseter&#8221;, and you&#8217;re there!

How do I get to the railway station?

The best alternative is to use the Bergen Light rail. Only a 5-minute walk from the hotel you will find the stop &#8220;Danmarksplass&#8221;. Take the one heading towards the city center and get off at &#8220;Bergen Busstasjon&#8221;.

How do I get to the bus station?
