What exactly can you do with a library card? At Oodi, you can use it, for example, for 3-D printing, recording music, playing games with VR glasses, and obviously, borrowing books. Oodi represents the modern library under an architecturally fascinating building.

For an outdoor experience, why not stroll around our biggest open-air museum? 



This museum island, Seurasaari, holds old Finnish houses and displays some of our old farm life history. As children, we used to feed nuts to the squirrels. I don&#8217;t know if that&#8217;s allowed anymore &#8211; but if it is, take a few almonds in your pocket to see if you can get a squirrel to eat out of your hand. 



Also, the bridge over to the island is iconic to us Helsinki-ers. A selfie upon each visit is a must!

Seurasaari

Ateneum Museum is Finland&#8217;s most renowned art museum. Their permanent collection consists of some international but mostly Finnish art from the 18th century up until Modernism. Artists like Schjerfbeck, Gallen-Kallela, and Edelfelt are names every Finn has grown up with.



If you are an art-geek, you can be sure to find your place here. And if you are not, you are guaranteed to leave more inspired than you were when you came!

For a sauna experience close by, this old public sauna is part of the neighbourhood&#8217;s history. Back in the day, not all houses had saunas (or even showers), so people would bathe in public saunas. 



If you go Thursday or Saturday, you can even book a time with a &#8220;washer&#8221; lady who will scrub you clean. Culture shock warning &#8211; Finns traditionally sauna naked. There will also be naked men (in towels, of course, we&#8217;re not barbarians) outside on the street.

Amos Rex is a quirky little museum that brings history, the present, and the future together in its immersive installations. A visit here may require planning &#8211; some exhibitions have sold out quickly in the past, so you may need to book tickets in advance.



If you have children, it is worth to note that everyone under 18 years visits Amos Rex for free. So bring your family and spend a day exploring this fantastic museum.

Check-in is from 15:00, and check-out time is 12:00. If you want to stay a little longer, let us know. You can stay (by request) until 14:00 for free in a double room if you are a Citybox Friend. If you want to stay even longer, you’ll, unfortunately, need to pay for another night as we need time to clean the room before the next guest. You can store luggage with us outside of these hours in our luggage room in the lobby.

What is the check-in & check-out time?

You can view all public transportation options from <a href="http://www.hsl.fi/en" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">www.hsl.fi/en</a> 



The simplest way from and to the airport is bus number 600 and from the West Harbour trams number 7 &amp; 9. We recommend taking sustainable choices like bus or tram over a taxi. Cheaper and better for the environment!

What transportation is there to the hotel?  

Yes! Our luggage storage is open for all guests before check-in and after check-out. Simply use the terminals to get a keycard for the luggage room. Please note that luggage is stored at the guest&#8217;s own risk. And as always, if you need help ask our hosts at the hotel!

Can I store my luggage at the hotel?

Breakfast can be included on your reservation. If so, this is at Cafe Roasberg. Just exit from the main entrance and walk up the hill to the side of the building to find the entrance

We do not accept American Express as a payment option, but we do accept it as a guarantee on our website. 



Cash payment is accepted across all of our hotels (except for Citybox Helsinki), but you need a valid credit or debit card as a guarantee. This card doesn&#8217;t get charged (unless something unexpected happens); It&#8217;s primarily intended for security reasons.

Pets are always welcome at our hotel for an extra 15 EUR per stay. Contact us before your stay and we will get you sorted. Only one dog / cat per room.

Can I bring my pet? 

Citybox Helsinki offers accessible rooms designed to accommodate guests with reduced mobility or other accessibility needs. These rooms come with step-free entry, wider doors, roll-in showers with grab bars and a shower chair, and lower sinks and fittings. The whole hotel — including the lobby and lifts are wheelchair friendly. We don’t have our own parking, but there are accessible spots nearby. Service animals are of course always welcome. If you need an accessible room or any extra help, just let us know when booking or get in touch—we’re here for you!

After you book your stay, you will receive a booking confirmation, including a booking number. When you check in, type in your booking number on our check-in terminal, make your payment, and you will receive your key card and room number.

How do I check in and out?

In the common areas we offer recycling bins for plastic, bottles, cardboard, bio waste and mixed waste. We aim to recycle as much as possible.

First off, we are super happy that you’d like to book a stay with us! Unfortunately, you must be over 18 years old to check into Citybox without adult supervision. But don’t worry; we’ll be here waiting for you!

How old do I have to be to stay with you?

We may be budget-friendly, but we don’t skimp on the essentials! Leave your towels and sheets at home; we’ve got you covered.

Should I bring my own sheets? 

At Citybox Hotels, we believe in making sure you have a comfortable and enjoyable stay. That’s why all our rooms are equipped with a comfy bed, a desk and chair, and a modern bathroom with soap, shampoo, and a hairdryer. Some of the rooms also have a small seating area for you to kick back and relax and make yourself at home.

What does my room include?

They are amazing, right? We get our beds from <a href="http://www.hildinganders.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">www.hildinganders.com</a> which usually only delivers to hotels. However, they carry different brands, and the Jensen bed would be equivalent to the beds we have at the hotel.

Where are the beds from?

Of course! Extra towels, a water kettle, and extra pillows are available in our Citybox Host Office on the ground floor.
