Barbarea is a restaurant and natural wine bar. The entire menu is inspired by different parts of the world, and the dishes are meant to be shared so that the whole experience can be enjoyed with others.



Half the menu consists of pizzas. The doughs are made from Estonian and Italian flours, and baked in a Gianni Acunto wood-fired oven.

Barbarea Restaurant

Gianni is a restaurant with classical Italian cuisine with a Michelin-star. In other words; if you really want a night out, this is the place to go! 



The restaurant itself has a wonderful atmosphere and very good service. But the food! That is where they really step up. Gianni has a rich selection of fresh fish and seafood, and we highly recommend you order one of those dishes. The chef works with passion and offers exceptional tastes that only comes from the freshest and best quality ingredients. The wine is also nothing to complain about, so if you enjoy a glass with your food we suggest you ask the waiter for a recommendation specifically to your dish. It is a bit pricier that some of the other restaurants in the Guide, but trust us. It&#8217;s worth it!

A cozy cafe with a pleasant interior located on the first floor of Tallinna Kaubamaja. Here you will find a variety of people, from students to people working remotely. The café has a wide selection of wines and several tasty dishes that changes almost daily.

Kiek in de Kök Fortification Museum forms a museum complex over 500 meters long that includes four towers: Kiek in de Kök, Maiden&#8217;s Tower, Tallitorn Tower, and the Gate Tower of the Short Leg (Lühikese jala väravatorn). The Estonian Museum of Architecture has a permanent exhibition of the models of the city, providing an overview of Estonian architecture in the 20th century. The museum is located in Rotermann salt storage, which is over 100 years old and one of the most remarkable examples of industrial architecture in Tallinn. Rukis have their own bakery and confectionery, managed by master bakers. We recommend starting your morning there. Each morning, their rooms are filled with the smell of fresh bread and coffee. 



They fill the display case with freshly baked cakes. Fresh pastries and pies are prepared all day, depending on the customers&#8217; needs. We can almost guarantee that you will leave with a full tummy and a smile around your face.

A must-see for historian lovers! About 200 authentic items are on display at the historical seaplane hangar: a submarine called Lembit, a century-old icebreaker Suur Tõll, a seaplane called Short 184, remains of the oldest ship found in Estonia, and much more.

Restaurant Kaerajaan is a modern version of local traditions. It is named after a local traditional dance, and the entire place is influenced by the Estonian cultural heritage. The chefs use the best seasonal and local ingredients to prepare dishes with a modern twist to the Estonian classics. 



Once your inside the restaurant you will feel the warm and cosy atmosphere to your core. The copper decorations resemble the old traditional reed compositions, and the gigantic lights with mittens will enchant you from your first visit.

Check-in time is from 15:00, and check-out time is 12:00. 



If you want to stay a little longer, let us know. You can stay until 13:00 for free. It’s an extra €12 per hour if you want to stay longer (until 15:00). If you want to stay even longer, you must pay for another night as we need time to clean the room before the next guest. You can store luggage with us outside of these hours in our luggage room.

What is the check-in and check-out time?

The best option to get to Citybox from Tallinn Airport is by taxi or bus. The taxi ride is usually about 15 minutes, which may vary due to traffic conditions. Similarly, the price will be influenced by traffic conditions as well.



The bus also takes around 15 minutes. From the airport, you can take either bus number 2 or 15, which will take you directly to the city center. We recommend making a sustainable choice and taking the bus; it&#8217;s better for the environment and nicer for your wallet.

How do I get to the hotel from the airport?

Yes! Our luggage storage is open for all guests before check-in and after check-out. Simply use the terminals to get a keycard for the luggage room. Please note that luggage is stored at the guest&#8217;s own risk. And as always, if you need help ask our hosts at the hotel!

Can I store my luggage at the hotel?

Breakfast is not included. Coffee and snacks can be purchased at the vending machines on the third floor. There we also have a guest kitchen equipped with a microwave oven, a fridge, and kettles, so you are able to prepare your own breakfast. You are also welcome to buy breakfast at the restaurant connected to our lobby. By showing your keycard you will get a 10% discount.



If you wish to pre-order breakfast you can do it when you book your stay. The price for breakfast is 16 €/per person.

Is breakfast included?

If you need to wash your clothes, there is a self-service laundromat located on the third floor, next to the guest kitchen. Laundry detergent is included in the price and goes into the machine automatically. One wash is €10, and so is one round in the dryer. We accept card payments only. Open 24/7.

Do you have a laundry room?

Unfortunately, we don’t have our own parking facilities. You can park in a garage under our hotel.&nbsp;EuroPark parking zone Porto Franco&nbsp;(EP400),max hight is 2,4m. The price is 10 €/24 hours.

Where can I park my car?

We don&#8217;t clean your room every day. Housekeeping is done every three days and after check-out. This helps us keep our prices low and is also a big plus for the environment! Extra cleaning can be ordered for a small fee, just stop by the Host Office.

Of course! Extra towels, a water kettle, and extra pillows are available in our Citybox Host Office on the ground floor.

Can I get extra towels?

We have free Wi-Fi for all our guests; no secret codes or passwords are required! Just connect and surf away.

Does your hotel have Wi-Fi?

We may be budget-friendly, but we don’t skimp on the essentials! Leave your towels and sheets at home; we’ve got you covered.

Should I bring my own sheets? 

At Citybox Hotels, we believe in making sure you have a comfortable and enjoyable stay. That’s why all our rooms are equipped with a comfy bed, a desk and chair, and a modern bathroom with soap, shampoo, and a hairdryer. Some of the rooms also have a small seating area for you to kick back and relax and make yourself at home.

What does my room include?

They are amazing, right? We get our beds from <a href="http://www.hildinganders.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">www.hildinganders.com</a> which usually only delivers to hotels. However, they carry different brands, and the Jensen bed would be equivalent to the beds we have at the hotel.

Where are the beds from?

We gladly accept Visa and Mastercard as payment options both on our website and in the hotels. For prepaid bookings, we also offer Apple Pay. 



We do not accept American Express as a payment option, but we do accept it as a guarantee on our website. 



Cash payment is accepted across all of our hotels (except for Citybox Helsinki and Citybox Stockholm), but you need a valid credit or debit card as a guarantee. This card doesn&#8217;t get charged (unless something unexpected happens); It&#8217;s primarily intended for security reasons.

Which payment options do you accept?

After you book your stay, you will receive a booking confirmation, including a booking number. When you check in, type in your booking number on our check-in terminal, make your payment, and you will receive your key card and room number.



When checking out, type in your booking reference, and leave your key card in the box next to the terminal.

How do I check in and out?

No need to worry about locking up when you head out; our doors automatically lock when you leave. To play it extra safe, you can also lock your door from the inside.

How do I lock my door?

First off, we are super happy that you’d like to book a stay with us! Unfortunately, you must be over 18 years old to check into Citybox without adult supervision. But don’t worry; we’ll be here waiting for you!

How old do I have to be to stay with you?

You can bring your furry family member for an extra 15€ per stay; just let us know in advance. We can’t wait to have them stay with us! We do love all animals, but we must put a leash on it and stick to only one dog or cat per room.

Can I bring my dog?

Extra bed costs €15 (baby cot for free) and must be pre-ordered by phone.

TVs can be found in the common room on the third floor and on the mezzanine, alongside books, children&#8217;s games, and activities such as table tennis. We have free (and fast) Wi-Fi so that you can stream Netflix in your room on your laptop or iPad!

The tap water in Tallinn is considered totally safe to drink. So bring a bottle to save both your money and the environment!

The closest one is called Kalarand beach. Its only a 16 minute walk from the hotel and a wonderful place for a swim. &nbsp;



If you are looking for a blue flag-certified beach, we recommend Pirita beach or Pikakari Beach. &nbsp;

Are there any beaches in Tallinn?

You can rent a City Bike from €8. The business is located in the Old Town, just a few minutes walk from the hotel. You can either rent a bike for a few hours, or book a guided tour! More information can be found at citybike.ee/bike-rental/.

Can I rent a bike?

Although there aren&#8217;t any parks immediately close to the hotel, you can walk for 20 to 30 minutes to get to the best ones. Both Toompark and Kadriorg Park are beautiful parks with rich histories, perfect for a day of exploring.
