Technical maintenance manager

About the job
Still practical work. Just without being up to your neck in snow. Welcome to our team!
Citybox Oslo, with over 340 rooms and high occupancy all year round, has guests rolling in and out all day long. To keep everything running smoothly, we need a practical and solution-oriented colleague who can keep the building in good condition.
When you do your job, we notice it right away – in our guest scores, in the atmosphere in the building, and in how smoothly things run for everyone around you.
If you like the combination of tools, people, systems, and responsibility, you’ve come to the right place.
About the role
As a technical maintenance manager, you are the one who ensures that everything works as it should, every single day. This can be anything from fixing a loose door handle to monitoring fire systems, checking technical rooms, or handling a bag of trash when needed.
This is a practical and physical role where you will be out and about in the building for much of the day – among guests, in technical rooms, at the goods reception, and yes… occasionally with a trash bag in your hand.
Responsibilities and tasks in the role
- Performing daily operations and ongoing maintenance of the entire building
- Repairing furniture and fixtures, painting, plastering, and other practical work
- Quality assurance of technical installations (meeting rooms, luggage lockers, safes, etc.)
- Overview and control of service agreements, contracts, and suppliers
- Supplier contact and follow-up
- Ensure and monitor HSE requirements, Green Key, fire protection, and energy consumption
- Quick problem solver when things happen unexpectedly (yes, water leaks are actually a classic)
What we are looking for
- You are practical and like to get things done. You are independent, structured, and able to keep a cool head when things get heated.
- Technical background, preferably with a trade certificate in electrical engineering, plumbing, carpentry, or similar
- Experience from operating commercial buildings or hotels is a big plus
- Good understanding of technical systems and installations
- Solution-oriented, flexible, and confident when things are urgent
- Comfortable using PCs and digital tools in everyday work
- Good communication skills – with colleagues, guests and suppliers
- Ability to make good assessments related to purchasing and maintenance
- If you have solid experience, this can compensate for a lack of formal qualifications.
What we offer
- You will have a role where your work really matters to both guests and employees
- You will be an important part of a rapidly growing organization with big ambitions
- You will have enthusiastic, generous, and unbureaucratic colleagues (at least we try!)
- You will be part of a culture that is honest, playful, inclusive, and loves to challenge the status quo
