Citybox is continuing its expansion in the Nordics with a new hotel project at Islands Brygge in Copenhagen. Developed in partnership with NCC, the hotel will feature 325 rooms and become Citybox’s second property in Denmark.
Located at Islands Brygge, one of Copenhagen’s most central and attractive areas, the hotel will offer guests easy access to the city center, Copenhagen Central Station, the waterfront, and many of the city’s cultural and dining destinations.
The project marks another important step in Citybox’s growth in Denmark, following the opening of Citybox Airport Hotel Copenhagen in Kastrup.
“Copenhagen is one of the most attractive hotel markets in the Nordics, and we have great confidence in the city’s continued development. Following our establishment in Kastrup, we are very pleased to be able to further strengthen our presence with a planned hotel signing at Islands Brygge, a location that combines a central setting, strong local development, and close proximity to the city’s key attractions. Together with NCC, we look forward to developing a hotel that is a great fit for the Citybox portfolio.” says Eivind Hjulstad, CEO of Citybox.
The hotel will follow the Citybox concept, combining efficient operations, smart digital self-service solutions, functional design, and central locations. This allows us to offer comfortable stays at competitive prices without compromising on quality or the guest experience.
“Islands Brygge is an attractive area with great potential. Here, we want to develop a hotel with one of Copenhagen’s best locations. The lease agreement with Citybox is an important first step in the project, and now
we’re continuing our efforts to find the right investor and lay the groundwork for construction to begin at a later date.” says Joachim Holmberg, Head of NCC Property Development at NCC Property.
Upon completion, Citybox will have 565 rooms in Copenhagen and a total of 2,659 rooms across its existing and planned hotels in the Nordic region and Europe. The project is currently in its early stages, and construction and opening dates have not yet been announced. We’ll share more updates as the project progresses.
