At Citybox, we do things a little differently, and that also applies to how we present ourselves digitally.

We are looking for a social media coordinator for a full-time temporary position in Bergen, lasting until January 2027. This is a role for someone who has a genuine interest in social media, understands how the platforms works today, and wants to help shape how Citybox is experienced even before guests arrive at the hotel.

Our social media accounts are more than inspiration – they are our digital store window. And that’s where you come in. You may not be an “expert” yet, but you are creative, confident in using apps, and have experience creating content that actually engages.

A little different – completely intentional

Citybox is built around smart, digital solutions and a guest journey that is largely self-service. This gives us room to focus on what really matters: clear communication, useful guidance, and great experiences – both digitally and at the hotels.

Today, Citybox operates 9 hotels (soon to be 10!) in 6 countries, with more on the way. This makes clear, consistent, and simple communication an important part of how we work.

In this role, you will work with social media as a central part of the guest journey, helping people discover Citybox, creating content that our followers actually want to see, and ensuring that they feel confident in choosing us.

What does a Social Media Coordinator at Citybox do?

This is a practical, creative, and varied role. Your tasks will include:

Planning and publishing content on our various social media accounts
Producing content such as videos, reels, stories, UGC, and trend-based content
Handling customer service and dialogue with guests on social media
Traveling to our hotels to create relevant and local content
Working with social search and visibility on social platforms
Acting as a digital Citybox guide, showing guests what Citybox is and how it works
Recommending local restaurants/cafes on behalf of Citybox, and having the opportunity to channel your inner Paal Friele Grung (if you know you know)
Being comfortable in front of the camera is a plus – we appreciate it if you are willing to contribute to content when it feels natural
You will work closely with the marketing team, while also having a great deal of trust and freedom in how you plan, create, and publish content.
Other tasks beyond social media may arise as needed

What we are looking for

Humor (dark and/or dry) is essential and highly valued.
You have a genuine interest in social media
You understand how Instagram and TikTok works for both information and inspiration
Good skills in Norwegian and English, both written and spoken
Has relevant education and some experience in marketing, social media, and communication. Lack of education can be compensated for by experience.
You communicate clearly, friendly and professionally
You enjoy being creative and testing new ideas
You are comfortable with traveling as part of the job
You work independently, but value being part of a team
You are structured enough to manage several accounts, but flexible in how you work
